Next Firmware Update for Maya Max

Post by deolux2 » Wed Mar 08, 2017 8:15 am

We have been waiting for the next firmware update for the Maya Max which I nicknamed 'The beauty and the beast'.
But there has been no official recent announcement from Bluboo Mobile on this matter.
Can anyone please explain what is going on?
One important reason of these updates is to continually optimise the performance and security of this device even if it is not yet possible to update from Android 6 (Marshmallow) to Android 7 (Nougat).
Kindest regards!

If one reads the following article http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/and ... tion-news/ in relation to this topic one may have the impression that there are at least two sides to this matter.
The first side is obviously that of the present global Android distribution figures (March 2017) sourced from Google by Digital Trends. While Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) was scored 31.3%, Android 7.0 and 7.1 (Nougat) were scored 2.4% and 0.4% respectively. Therefore Bluboo Maya Max is in terms of its current firmware (Android 6.0) is not 'an ancient mammoth' but 'a maturing young elephant' figuratively speaking.
The second side is that of the Bluboo customers. A close examination of the comments of most customers from the old Bluboo forum and the Bluboo Facebook page shows that most if not all expect at least one major firmware update (from Android 6.0 to Android 7.0) in the life cycle of Bluboo Maya Max.
But there is still yet another very important side to this matter: that of Bluboo Mobile. Can we expect an official response from them?!

While we await positive and progressive input from both Bluboo Mobile and its customers on this topic, we can refresh our minds on its importance by reading this fairly recent article https://www.quora.com/Is-there-any-advantage-of-frequently-updating-android-phone-1.
In my opinion, the possibility of Bluboo Mobile providing such regular updates is a very powerful promotional tool to keep its present customers and secure future customers.

For anyone who is curious or anxious as to why such major android software updates take so long, I have found an interesting 'old' article just click here http://www.droid-life.com/2013/12/26/awesome-infographic-htc-shows-us-the-anatomy-of-an-android-os-update-from-pdk-to-ota/. Kind regards!

I have just found a much more recent article on why these major android updates are taking so much time, specifically Nougat updates even for the major smartphone manufacturers according to this 2017 article from ANDROIDPIT:- https://www.androidpit.com/why-do-manufacturers-take-so-long-with-nougat-updates
Please post your short and sincere comments here after reading this article.
Kind regards.
